Flyer Than Most Coast To Coast was something destined to be. Erika and I became friends my junior year of high school when I transferred from a private school that politely asked me to leave. We have been through HELL and high water as friends.
The essential point of our journey began when we decided to move to New York City.
The prep for the move was an unconventional one; let's just say we were going to get there by any means necessary and we did.
Erika had just started her relationship with the man who is now the father of her son Jesiah when she moved to NY. 3 weeks into our big move the love of her life came to visit and she went back in his luggage. lol. She was in love and so was I; with New York.
I stayed in New York and have been living here ever since. My son was conceived here and took Brooklyn as his middle name after the place I've called home.
Erika became a mother shortly after me and there it happened life led us into another bond we share together; Motherhood. We are now two mothers living on two different sides of the country raising our kids and maintaining our unique individuality all the while. We knew from conception that our kids and ourselves weren't going to fit the stepford family mold and that's fine. We knew there would be tons of families that march to the beat of their own drum and we hope in FTMC2C you find a home. This is to embrace all the unique young parents and their children that are raising their kids by their own terms and living life.
