Meet The Barkers
We absolutely have to shout out the amazing father that is Travis Barker. Erika and I have loved this man most of our entire lives, for girl reasons mostly, and the fact we grew up in San Diego. Travis
Barker is more than a good looking face or arguably one of the best drummers to ever do it, he is an EXTRAORDINARY father. Travis's glimpse of fatherhood began when he was 13 and lost his virginity to his 15 year old girlfriend. She ran around school telling everyone, including him, that she was pregnant (turns out she was joking, they have grown to be friends and can laugh at it now.) His REAL glimpse of fatherhood began when he returned from touring with The Transplants in 2003, his first child, Landon was born. Travis and company joined onto MTV's reality show, Meet The Barkers, a show I am still trying to find on dvd. I think the reality show was the first time we really got to see a side to Travis that most people probably wouldn't expect. I loved watching how hands on and creative he is when it comes to his loved ones. The show portrayed him for the hardworking dedicated father and musician that he really is, and his wife as more of a fast life partier. The tables were turned because of the way they look on surface I'm sure a lot of people probably assumed it would be reversed. Since then Travis had a daughter, Alabama, and is also a father to his ex-wife Shana Moakler's first born, Atiana (Oscar De La Hoya is her father).
Travis has some years under the parent belt at this point, and is doing a phenomenal job. Having lost his mother to cancer at 12, he has very specific ideals when it comes to the relationship he maintains with his children. He refers to them as his little humans, and you will rarely see him without them by his side. I love the life that this man has created with these "little humans". His daughter tattooed her name on his leg, they all play the drums, and tour the world with one of the most loving and talented men of our generation.
